Sept. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- Laser Safety Industries (LSI), Minneapolis, MN – August 3, 2010, – On July 1, 2010, Laser Safety Industries introduced their new Laser Safety Barrier Enclosures for class 3 & high power Class 4 laser systems. These barriers are ideal for isolating a laser in a room while maintaining portability and modularity.
Laser Barrier Enclosures are designed for your specific application and available in several configurations that can be combined to produce a unique solution for your laser system. Laser Barrier.
Laser Safety Industries’ Laser  Barrier Enclosures are constructed of two primary components: Laser barrier material and extruded aluminum frame.
Laser barrier extruded aluminum frame has a brushed finish designed to decrease laser reflection. Aluminum extrusions have nearly the same tensile strength as mild steel with a much higher strength to weight ratio. A few simple tools and low-tech labor are all that is required for most system’s assembly and can easily be done on-site. In many cases no special safety equipment is required. Enclosures are modular by design to be easily movable with optional casters Aluminum is also 100% recyclable.
Laser barrier material is designed to withstand 200W per centimeter squared with a beam size of 5 mm for 100 seconds. Higher power laser barrier material is designed to withstand 300W per centimeter squared with a beam size of 5 mm for 100 seconds. The correct barrier material is determined by your laser specifications and output. Our trained laser safety expert can help with determining the correct type.
