Riverside Murfreesboro Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Riverside Continuum of Care Unifies with Name Change
By: April M. Broussard, LCSW
Sept. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- Optimizing behavioral health and life satisfaction in older adults has been Reflections forte since
our opening over four years ago. We are proud to be a part of the Riverside continuum of care as well as part of the
Rutherford County community.
Reflections, located at 352 W. Northfield Blvd. in Murfreesboro along with our sister program, Center for Independence, located in McMinnville decided recently to share the name Riverside with our inpatient gero-psych hospital Riverside Center, located within Stones River Hospital in Woodbury, TN. It was time for the systems, owned by Stones River Hospital & DeKalb Community Hospital to convey the unity and share an identity. Riverside Murfreesboro offers a distinctive outpatient behavioral health approach. Serving only older adults and their unique situations, clients attend the program about 3 days a week for 4 hours a day. Our ultimate goal is to help the client recapture life satisfaction that may have diminished due to several common factors related to aging such as transition, loss, health complications, and/or a history of depressive and anxiety symptoms. We achieve this goal through the use of a highly trained, professional, multidisciplinary team that modifies their approach according to each clients needs.
The team at Riverside Murfreesboro also understands the implications of caregiving. This is why we began “Caregiver Chaos”, a support program unlike the typical support group. Utilizing an evidence-based model developed at the Institute of Gerontology at SUNY Albany, Caregiver Chaos provides support, knowledge and ways to cope with the challenges of caregiving that affect all aspects of our lives. Because there is such a need in our community for this program, and our team specializes in the biopsychosocial wellbeing of people, we are pleased to offer this program at no cost to the caregiver.
