The Hospital Hospitality House of Richmond Welcomes Ace of Cakes Duff Goldman to SAVOR After Dark

Sept. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- SAVOR After Dark is a new addition to SAVOR. Scheduled to start at 9:30 PM on Saturday, October 2, it’s an after party designed to provide an opportunity for attendees and others to mingle with the Visiting and Local Chefs while they relax and enjoy interesting drinks and edgy, sophisticated food.  Local chefs including Brian Coates (Groovin Gourmets), Jannequin Bennett (Positive Vibe Café), Christine Wansleben (Mise En Place), Seth Goldstone (formerly of Nordstrom’s), Chef Sally Schmidt (Sally Foods), Sam George and Andy Howell (Chefs/Owners, Café Rustica), will craft amazing deconstructive and molecular gastronomical creations for attendees. Unique beverages will be offered from mixologist Jim Romdall (Vessel/Seattle), and guest baristas from Espresso A Go-Go will be on hand performing Latte Art and producing wonderful coffee drinks.  Special musical guest Johnny Hott and the Piedmont Souprise will perform and the evening will culminate in a presentation by our Special Visiting Chef:
•   Duff Goldman, Chef Goldman, aka Ace of Cakes from the Food Network, is an accomplished chef as well as a baker and television personality.  The owner of Charm City Cakes will speak and answer questions for guests and chefs.

SAVOR: Following the overwhelming success of SAVOR in October 2009, the Hospital Hospitality House is planning SAVOR 10, to be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 beginning at 6 PM at the SunTrust Bank Building in downtown Richmond.  SAVOR is a Gourmet Experience benefitting the Hospital Hospitality House.

Since 1984, the Hospital Hospitality House has been “a place to call home” for more than 115,000 patients in medical crisis and their families. The House is Richmond’s premier provider of lodging and non-medical support services for these families and is the largest hospitality house in the country that operates on a donations-only basis. HHH guests come to Richmond from across Virginia, the United States and beyond. They are adults and children, transplant recipients and cancer patients, trauma victims and veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The House helps them overcome distance, transportation and financial concerns to obtain the specialized medical care they need from the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System-Medical College of Virginia Hospitals (VCUHS MCVH), the McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center, or six other Richmond area hospitals.
