Sept. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- November 4th 2010 will see the first Welsh Asian Business Awards taking place at the Vale Resort in Cardiff.  The Welsh Asian Business Awards is a prestigious competition which celebrates and showcases the achievements of Asian business men and women who are at the forefront of their industry.

Amit Arora, Business Development Director with the Oceanic Group said “The Welsh Asian Business Awards in November will capture the multi-cultural spirit of Wales, and will reward the budding entrepreneurs and innovative business giants that have contributed to their community and industry.
“The Asian business men and woman in Wales deserve a platform from which to celebrate and showcase their achievements. The equivalent in Scotland has proved a great success since their inception in 2006, the reputation of the Awards has flourished thanks to the people that grace the finalist shortlist and the winners’ podium. I am confident that these Awards will prove themselves as the most prestigious Awards ceremony in the Welsh Asian Business Community’s calendar – the wealth of Welsh Asian business talent is just waiting to be recognised and rewarded.”

The Welsh Asian Business Awards will follow in the footsteps of their Scottish counterparts. Oceanic Consulting – the organisers of the Awards – has achieved massive success with the Awards Scottish equivalents. The Scottish Asian Business Awards have been running annually since 2006 to much success and critical acclaim. Past winners include; Poonam Gupta of PG Paper, one of Scotland’s biggest exporters (Businesswoman of the Year Award 2009), Mr Azeem Ibrahim (Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2008), Mohammad Sarwar MP (Lifetime Achievement Award 2007), and Dr Rabinder Buttar, president and founder of ClinTec (Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2007). The Scottish Asian Business Awards have been attended by numerous high profile guests such as the First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond MP MSP, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, the Secretary of State for Scotland in 2009 Jim Murphy.
