A business based in north-east England has launched a new, web-based food directory service, and is offering hotels, restaurants, cafés and take-aways, the opportunity to take advantage of a free listing.

The just-Menus.com website, with its distinctive ‘Click ! Go ! Eat !’ branding, is designed to make it easier for consumers to make informed choices about eating out and eating in throughout the North East. It covers the full range of food sources, from sandwich bars, hotels and fish & chip shops, to Michelin-starred restaurants. Eating in or eating out, sit down or take-away, all are listed at just-Menus.com.

Website visitors can select their preferred type of food - restaurant or take-away. Click on your choice, then search by town or postcode.

The basic listing for businesses included on the website directory is free of charge. Owners can confirm their listing, or update information, by contacting just-Menus.com via e-mail or telephone. Premium listings, which include printable / downloadable menus, are chargeable.  A free e-mail newsletter is available to site visitors who have the option of signing up to keep up to date with new menus or offers. There is also a monthly Champagne draw for those who sign up.

just-Menus.com managing director, Alex Redpath, who is based in Darlington, County Durham, stresses that the site offers benefits for all concerned.  “We advertise hotels, restaurants, cafés & take-aways and they advertise us – it’s that simple. We help them and they help us,” says Mr Redpath. “The website fills a gap in the market, because it allows consumers to select from a complete range of eating options. It is equally useful for tourists and local people alike.”

While the initial launch is confined to the North Of England (already 11,000 listings), there are plans in hand for national expansion. Meanwhile, the just-Menus.com website is being extensively promoted throughout the region.
