Follow on Google News | Indie Author of Historical Fiction Joins Forces with KickstarterBelinda Kroll, author of Catching the Rose, teams with micro-funding community Kickstarter to raise funds in time for an October release of her upcoming work, Haunting Miss Trentwood.
If pledges reach and/or surpass the monetary goal within the time limit (October 15), then the project is funded. Otherwise, the project backers are not charged, and Kroll receives no funding from Kickstarter. Rewards are organized by pledge amount, starting from the minimum of one dollar. At the writing of this press release, Kroll had accumulated 11% of her goal. Catching the Rose is Kroll's debut book, originally written under another name. The book portrays a year in the life of a determined young woman who believes she creates her destiny. Set in the opening months of the American Civil War, the novel follows the story of Veronica Vernon, a young woman torn between fulfilling her dream of finding her childhood love and doing her duty by marrying the man her family wants her to marry.
