ApexOD to Exhibit Health & Safety Program Management Technology at MASMS 2010 Fall Conference

ApexOD Environmental Health & Safety Program Management Technology on Display at the Minnesota Educational Facilities Management Professionals (MASMS) 2010 Fall Conference in St. Cloud, MN on September 29 – October 1.
Sept. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Minneapolis, MN - Environmental health and safety program management technology from ApexOD will be on display at the upcoming MASMS 2010 Fall Conference, scheduled to be held in St. Cloud, MN, from September 29 – October 1.

According to Duff Dorschner, President of ApexOD, “We are proud to return to the MASMS Fall Conference in 2010.  Facility Management Professionals and School Business Officials in Minnesota have embraced ApexOD’s cost-saving and performance improving technology over a number of years.”

One of ApexOD’s Minnesota clients, Wayzata Public Schools, a 2009 EPA Indoor Air Quality National Excellence Award Winner, has also been invited to reprise a well-received 2009 presentation at the 2010 conference.  Wayzata Public School’s Rodger Schaefbauer, Heath & Safety Coordinator, will present.  Schaefbauer likes to explain how ApexOD technology has allowed him to, “Enjoy an OSHA inspection”.

Minnesota statute specifically supports Health & Safety Levy authority for public school district funding of technology like ApexOD’s modular web-based health and safety program management tools.  A number of districts in Minnesota, ranging from those in the largest metro areas to smaller rural communities have benefited from the proven technology.  To Dorschner, “Earmarked health & safety funding in Minnesota law makes an already positive return on investment calculation a no-brainer for most school districts.  Whether more efficiently using tax dollars with time-saving handheld technology for environmental inspections and audits or simply using intuitive task management to ensure that ‘urgent’ doesn’t overwhelm ‘important’ when it comes to resolving environmental health and safety action items in schools, ApexOD drives better results with existing staff while enabling better stewardship of diminishing financial resources.”

The health and safety challenges can sometimes be temporarily hidden or overlooked, but the risks and responsibilities are a perpetual management challenge.  Dorschner explains, “Schools have to have an ongoing process to identify where the health and safety problems exist, have a constantly evolving plan to remove or mitigate those risks, and up to date documentation of their progress against that plan.  Increasingly, communication to stakeholders needs to embrace the web.”

Unfortunately, as Dorschner points out, “Many educational organizations are succeeding in only one or two of these steps.  All too often, schools make most of the effort (and spend significant dollars), but fail in tracking progress and status, leaving an environment rife with excesses, missed opportunities, and rework.”

ApexOD is dedicated to building affordable state of the art technology which empowers health & safety professionals to create healthy & safe environments for staff, students and communities.

Based on over twenty years of field environmental health and safety expertise, ApexOD provides a patent-pending suite of web-based environmental health and safety program management products designed to improve compliance, save time, enhance communication, reduce risk, and lower the cost of delivering a safe and healthy environment in clients’ buildings.
