Charger Pursuit: Cop Car Gets More Sinister

Sept. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- This sinister-looking cop car is due to be released later this year. This new cop car is based on the completely redesigned 2011 Charger.

“The police version provides additional clues about that the redesigned civilian Charger will look like when it hits the road later this year,” Car and Driver wrote. “A police-spec photo further confirms the 2011 models will be a stylistic evolution of the current car, the magazine said.”

Car and driver reported some changes in the Chargers looks consist of a more defined shoulder line, a lesser gap between the fender and rear wheels and a smoother transition from the rear quarter panel to the body side.

The Charger Pursuit has been modified for police duty, and includes features unlike any car on the market including:

Heavy-duty anti-lock brakes
Front and rear stabilizer bars
A two-mode police-specific stability control system
18-inch performance tires on steels wheels
3.6-liter V-6 engine or 5.7-lier Hemi V-8 engine
290 horsepower and 260 lbs-ft of torque
Rear-wheel drive

Jalopnik.com said that the original Dodge Charger Pursuit is an aggressive, V8-powered “hound dog menacing criminals and speeds from Bangor to Burbank.” The redesign shows off the new Charger’s “meaner grill work and a two-tone getup” highlighting the new character lines aft of the front doors, Jalpnik.com said.

Police departments can start ordering the all-new 2011 Dodge Charger Pursuit in this month. You sure wouldn’t want to get stopped by the cop driving this car.
