Use a luggage scale to make sure your bags stay within the allotted weight. One pound over can have a serious cost.

Ship your bags ahead of time. If you are traveling with more bags, you can often save hundreds by shipping your bags early.

Purchase new luggage. Technology has come a long way in recent years. New luggage can weigh pounds less, saving you money.
