BCIU To Host Diplomatic Simulation For High School Students

Sept. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- READING, PA – The Berks County Intermediate Unit’s Asian Studies Collaborative is proud to present “Negotiator: The Six Party Talks,” on September 30, 2010, 12:30 p.m.—4:30 p.m., at BCIU’s River’s Chase building, room EC 178.

Participants will assume the role of a negotiator from the United States, North Korea, South Korea, China, Russia, or Japan in this exciting simulation. Each negotiator will try to reach a comprehensive disarmament agreement with North Korea and lay the groundwork for normalized relations while trying to accomplish country-specific goals, thereby assuring the best deal for his or her nation.

Presented in partnership with the Korea Economic Institute, this unique opportunity offers participants the chance to learn about politics, negotiation, and some of the ideological and cultural challenges that must be overcome in the world of international diplomacy.
