Company decided to take legal action rather than paying to make it go away
By: Bill Alvarez/ District Manager Shortly thereafter, the former employee made good on his threats and began contacting former prospective clients and posting derogatory statements on various consumer sites such as Rip-Off Report and Pissed Consumer. At this time, Stough International filed a Police report in their local jurisdiction and began legal proceedings. On September 1, 2010 the honorable Judge Luzzo in Broward County Florida has ruled on the case today in our favor. Final judgment was awarded to Stough International for $1.1Mil; the ruling also ordered the removal of all derogatory reports placed on consumer sites immediately. In a quote from Stephen Stough, President of Stough International. “It’s a different world today when people can post anything they want about you without proof or justification. Unfortunately, or fortunately – depending on what outcome you are looking for, with the internet you don’t have the ability to consider the source since the author is so cleverly disguised by anonymity.” The company is proud of its decision to stand up and fight and wants everyone to know that doing the right thing is not always easy, but it is always right. # # # Fullservice protection and investigation firm offering services of the highest caliber to our clients inboth the private and public sectors.
