Calling Shadows – In The Works

Azmeth from the Riven tribe is drove out of the Yucatan with sister tribe Mayan’s, running from a Spanish invasion.  Old spirits come alive in hopes to save the tribes, Blood God Ah Puch claims Azmeth to immortality…Vampire.  Walking his way through time alone until he comes upon Ayianna Rain, a Blackfoot Indian healer living in the town of Salem at the cusp of the witch trials.  Their lives intersect on a moonlit night and they are intertwined forever.  Gracefully flowing through the years, decades and centuries together to current day and age.  The ultimate tests are thrown at them but they are survivors.  Questions is can the love between a Vampire and a Witch, pitted against each other, really survive?

Excerpt:  “Pastor Henry threw open the church doors and opened his Bible, standing in front of the child tied to the stake, with her feet kicking and screaming so hard she was vomiting.  He started saying a prayer for the child, for her soul to be cleansed and saved.  For the Devil to be driven out from her body and the other man lit the dry tinder on fire with a torch.

Sara’s body racked and squirmed on the stake as the heat grew more and more.  Ayianna burst into an all consuming fury that almost freed her from the men’s hands.  More men ran over to her, now four of them had a hold of her by her arms and feet, holding her spread out off the ground.  The sounds of her child’s screams was driving her insane and she turned her head to look over at Sara.”

Bear & Sparrow – In The Works

Book 2 of the Raven Series – Bear is the fearless brother of Raven, both son’s of the Chief guiding the Grand Blackfoot tribe in Browning Montana.  Coming into his own Bear, successfully goes through his vision ceremony but with several unanswered questions.  Completely unsure of how his fate will turn out but knowing that Singing Sparrow will always own his heart.  Certain circumstances place Sparrow’s hand in Raven’s and Bear is tortured.  Once Sparrow is with child, all must be revealed to the tribal Chief, and await for punishments to be handed down to Bear and his brother.  The white man invading their territory and driving the tribe to split to save lives as a imported sickness takes countless of their loved ones before their eyes.  Ultimately a story about survival, brotherhood and its bonds, challenged by a burning love that can not be denied.

Excerpt:  “Bear gathered his nerve and stepped out of the trees, knowing the animal gave every indication, it knew he was there.  The young brave swallowed hard and stood in front of the grizzly.   His eyes looked at the giant majestic animal from its paws on the ground up the full length to its head, something in the brave changed.  His demeanor changed as his eyes moved, taking on the personality and stance of the beast in front of him.  Both stood face to face, hair in a wild manner, the braves blowing in the wind like a lion’s mane.”

Raven – Waiting for Publication

A breathtaking Historical Romance sprawling the plains of Montana up through the Mountains.  Raven, raised as a Blackfoot Indian learns the ways of his tribe.  From a young boy alone on the plains to a true warrior of his people, he has but one desire.  His ceremonial quest showed him his future, a white woman with golden hair.  What his vision did not show him was her strong spirit and her affinity to have trouble follow her.  Can he break through her defenses and teach her to love?  Will he be able to save her from the clutches of Sean Willis and the Innocents that rule Bannack Montana and take her back with him to Browning?

Excerpt:  “A look of horror spread across her face, Nicole’s tiny frame racked with fear.  Trembling, as her eyes were drawn to the shadow of the lone scout wolf, standing one hundred yards in front of her.  Its eerie yellow eyes seemed to glow as they fixed on her.  The silvery hair on its back stood at attention, large deadly teeth and white frothy foam dripped from its mouth from the anticipation.  The animal let out a hideous growl.”

Crystal Rayne is also working on a Gothic Series of books, and has this to say:
"I have toyed with the idea for a little over a year now about writing a Gothic series of books.  I am happy to report that I am no longer playing with that idea.  As of today I have officially started book one.  I have created an extremely strong male lead and the female is every bit as powerful, in her own rite.  Oddly enough, I have found a common thread in all of the series books I am writing.  From Sagarun, I have brought a descendant into the world of Raven, the historical romance books.  From Raven I pulled a descendant and put her as the lead in my new Gothic series.

So for any of you that read my books as they are available, you will find a female from each book crossing over into the next series.  I thought I would let you all in on that interesting little fact.  Bringing a character from the fantasy genre, into historical romance and finally landing in the new Gothic series will be a fun task.  I hope you enjoy our journey together as I create this new series of books.  Hold on, this is going to be a fast paced ride!"
