Autumn is the time of maturity and harvest. The air becomes a bit crisper, and the leaves change. Everything slows down, and the days shorten.

Sept. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Autumn is just around the corner, bringing with it a spike in colds and allergies. Kids, in particular, are more susceptible to contagious illnesses, which are sometimes tough to recognize. Autumn requires us to make changes in our lifestyle due to weather, school activities, and upcoming holidays. Take steps to make sure your kids develop healthy habits that will help them now and throughout their lives.

Colds, strep throat and other infectious illnesses get going when kids are back in school and passing things around.Take steps to stop the spread of germs and ask your health care provider if you and the kids should get a flu vaccination in the fall. Also, be sure to keep the kids home when they’re sick. Remind family members to wash hands frequently to the length of a little tune and to cover their nose and mouth with a tissue when sneezing or coughing.

Although preventative measures can’t completely eliminate seasonal health issues, they can lessen their severity.
