New Age and Natural Latest Trends for Pet Health

World-Renowned Holistic Vet to Speak at Two Events

Sept. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- NEW HOPE, PA — The shift toward natural health care and nutrition is also gaining traction in the pet care industry. If you don’t like preservatives and unnecessary chemicals in your body, think about that beloved furry companion who can’t read a label!

That’s been the passion and life’s work of Deva Khalsa, DVM, CVA, FBIH. One of the nation’s foremost holistic veterinarians will share enlightened answers to pet owners’ questions at two events: October 2 at the DogDaddy Festival, New Hope Solebury High School, New Hope, Bucks County; and October 3 at the Natural Pet Expo at Liberty Walk, Northern Liberties, Philadelphia.

Dr. Khalsa will sign copies of her latest book at DogDaddy, and speak on October 2nd at DogDaddy on The Secret Life of Pet Food, Celebrating our Relationships with Our Dogs, and Preventing Disease the Right Way.   Dr. Khalsa will be Ask the Vet on October 3rd at the Natural Pet Expo.

Dr. Khalsa is the go-to expert on melding alternative and standard veterinary treatments, diet and quality nutrition for both her peers and animal lovers worldwide. An author and lecturer in many countries, she is also in demand on National Public Radio, Martha Stewart’s veterinary satellite radio show and network television programs and pet trade magazines.  She will be featured monthly in Dog World magazine, and she also writes many articles for Animal Wellness Magazine and Feline Wellness Magazine.

Specifically, she is known for pioneering the use of Chinese herbs, acupuncture, acupressure, and chiropractic in animals. She has been lauded for treating cases that seemed hopeless, ranging from allergies to degenerative diseases.

Her latest book, Dr. Khalsa’s Natural Dog (BowTie Press, 2009) is considered the “holistic bible” for dog owners. She is currently working on a similar book about cats.

Dr. Khalsa’s true passion is keeping pets healthy through daily nutrition and diet. She is now partnering with the Deserving Pets company to develop a line of high-quality cat and dog vitamins and other products. Samples will be handed out at both events.

A past Bucks County resident and graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, Deva Khalsa has always combined the best practices of both alternative care and traditional veterinary science to offer breakthrough answers to tough issues on animal care, maintenance and healing.
