Affordable Closets Plus Showcases Work While Helping Charities

Sept. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Affordable Closets Plus, with offices in Frenchtown, NJ, and Bangor, PA, enjoyed a presence at not one, but three, premiere designer showhouses that raised funds for area hospitals. Held each spring, designer showhouses are popular fundraising events that feature a spacious home being completely redecorated by some of the top interior designers and landscape architects in the tri-state area -- and then opened to the public for tours.

“Competition to display designs and services at these events is fierce, and it is difficult to get invited to present at one show each spring, much less three,” says Angel Martin, co-owner of Affordable Closets Plus, which has been operating since 1993. “When we were asked to showcase our custom design work at three events in one month, we were honored – and knew we would be incredibly busy! Our creative storage solutions of custom closets and cabinetry are what truly set us apart.”

Mansion in May Designer Showhouse and Gardens, Harding Township, NJ

From May 1st - 31st, more than 20,000 visitors attended the 15th annual Mansion in May, sponsored by the Women’s Association of Morristown Memorial Hospital. Visitors marveled at how a 21-room stone manor was transformed through the efforts of more than 50 interior designers, architects and landscapers. Affordable Closets Plus designed a tranquil Gentleman’s Quarters, or “men’s sanctuary,” off of the master bedroom boasting an organized dressing area with custom-designed wardrobe compartments. The event raised funds for the expansion of the Emergency Department at Morristown Memorial Hospital.

Bucks County Designer House & Gardens, Furlong, PA

The custom cabinetry and unique design skills of Affordable Closets Plus transformed a garage space on a 103-acre equestrian estate into “Storage with Class” at the Bucks County Designer House & Gardens, sponsored by the Village Improvement Association (VIA) of Doylestown from May 2nd - 30th. More than 8,000 people toured the estate and raised funds to support the Doylestown Hospital’s new Emergency Department and other community initiatives. With a membership of more than 400 women, the VIA is the only women’s club in the country to own and operate a community hospital.

Designer Showhouse of New Jersey, Saddle River, NJ

Benefiting the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center, the Designer Showhouse of New Jersey was open to the public from April 25th - June 6th. As they toured a Georgian mansion in Saddle River, NJ, close to 4,000 attendees admired the workmanship of top designers and vendors, including the extraordinary 14’ x  9’ walk-in closet/dressing room area designed by Affordable Closets Plus.

“Three spring showhouses required a great deal of creativity and work, but it was rewarding to raise money for such wonderful hospitals and causes,” says Martin. “We are already planning to display new designs at additional events next year.”
