If You had One Day to Live, What Wish would You Wish for Another Person?

Sept. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- MISSION VIEJO, CA—Thursday, September 2, 2010— A profound question raced through Sam Afshar’s mind while swimming laps one day not long ago. Where do all the unfulfilled and unexpressed dreams, hopes and wishes go?

He realized that he had been neglecting to give careful consideration to the expression of his dreams, hopes and wishes. He also realized that he was probably not alone in facing this dilemma. To challenge and motivate people to share their wishes, the management & strategy consultant assembled a team that resulted in the development an online contest entitled “One Day To Live” (www.onedaytolive.org).

Contestants are invited to submit a brief video expressing a heartfelt and insightful wish for a loved one, family, community or the world. The winner will receive an Apple iPad based on the public vote and how creative and truthfully he/she expresses the wish, as well as how it inspires others.

“Many people go through life without asking this important question. As a result, many wishes pass on unheard and undone. After some very interesting and “out of the box” discussions, the team agreed that the contest would be a fun and positive way for people to comfortably create and express a wish that would outlast themselves and bring awareness of what really matters, ” said Afshar, who is also a volunteer coach at CSUF’s Center for Entrepreneurship.

The contest is based on Wishes4Life (www.wishes4life.com) founded on the realization that millions of people go through their entire lives with wishes that are not only unfulfilled, but also in many cases unexpressed.
