By: AE3Q Mesa, AZ residences can qualify for the program through Mesa CAN- A New Leaf. Once they have been approved, AE3Q visits the property and performs an energy audit. This is a whole house approach. Yes, that means, an AE3Q team evaluates building materials from the roof to the foundation. Then steps are implemented through projects to make the home energy efficient. A final quality check is performed after all the work has been completed. Now the home is more energy efficient and the homeowner is educated on energy efficiency practices. Therefore using less energy and having lower energy bills. This is AE3Q’s 2nd year assisting with the program. “It is a good day when you receive a hug from a homeowner who is grateful you where there to repair or replace their air conditioning unit during the hot summer months,” reports Melissa, an AE3Q representative.
