Follow on Google News | Foundation Awards Over $6,500 In Technical Mini GrantsLower Shore nonprofits receive grants to enhance their missions
The purpose of awarding Technical Mini Grants is to provide up to $1,000 for individual nonprofit agencies in Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties for the purchase of equipment, attendance at training opportunities, or for other resources necessary to enhance their respective missions. Nonprofit organizations awarded Technical Mini Grants by the Community Foundation during the current grant cycle were: • The Julia A. Purnell Museum was awarded $1000 for a consultant to conduct a strategic plan. • Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation was awarded $940 for a laptop and projector for classroom traning programs. • Quota International was awarded $1000 to design a website that will allow the Club to promote the variety of program and partners that it works with throughout the year to help deaf/hearing impaired individuals and disadvantaged women and children. • Dove Pointe Foundation was awarded $930 to purchase a computer workstation for the Employment Discovery Program to assist staff in providing job search assistance to clients. • Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County was awarded $1,000 for two computer workstations. • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Maryland and the Maryland Mentoring Resource Center was awarded $655 for purchase of a computer workstation to more effectively serve a broader geographic area, with the focus on the recruitment of new mentors. • Salisbury Urban Ministries was awarded $1,000 to replace their printer/copier. The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore is a charitable public foundation serving the lower Eastern Shore of Maryland by building charitable funds, advising donors, making effective grants and providing leadership to address community needs.
