How to Hypnotize Yourself - The 10 Steps
There are several important steps you need to take when learning how to hypnotize yourself. Anyone can learn how to hypnotize someone but it takes some practice to hypnotize yourself.
10 Steps to Hypnotize Yourself :
1- Find a position that is comfortable and get relaxed, get in a position that you will be able to maintain while you hypnotize yourself. Sitting or lying down would work for this, breath slowly and let yourself really relax.
2- Think about how long you want to spend hypnotized and make a statement such as “I will hypnotize myself for 15 minutes..” or however long you want to.
3- Make a statement about why you want to hypnotize yourself. This will allow your unconscious mind to work on this issue rather then giving suggestions. Make a statement such as “I am going to hypnotize myself for the purpose of allowing my unconscious mind to make the adjustments to assist me in ___” You could hypnotize yourself to lose weight, eat healthier, get up earlier or anything you want.
4- Look in front of you and pick out 3 things, small objects, and focus in on them. Then name the items you are looking at, “I see a dark spot on the wall”.
5- Now focus on audio signals and specify three things that you hear. This will allow you to incorporate sounds while you hypnotize yourself rather then being distracted.
6- Now focus on feelings, state three things you are feeling right now, “I feel the weight of my glasses” or “I feel tired”.
7- Continue this proccess of the above 3 steps again with only 2 objects, then again with only 1. After thsi you have completed the external process of learning to hypnotize yourself.
8- Now close your eyes and create an image in your mind, or let something pop into your head, it could be anything from a car, a banana, or a tropical island. If you don't see anything construct something in your mind.
9- Now let a sound come into your mind or construct one, it is okay to use external sounds that you hear. This is to incorporate external sounds into your hypnosis.
10- Now create a feeling in your mind and say it, it could be “I feel the warmth of the sun on my face”, or whatever you like. If you actually are feeling a physical feeling at the moment you can use that as well.
Now repeat the above three steps with 2 iamges, 2 sounds, and 2 feelings, and finally once again with three of each.
To complete the process open your eyes when your alloted time is up, it is not unusual to feel asleep or spaced out a bit during this time. You will find yourself coming back automatically when your alloted time you set in step 3 is up.
