Sept. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- American Conference Institute (ACI) has announced that, now in its fourth year, its Energy Trading Compliance conference will feature key government regulators and industry professionals on its faculty.  The conference, which takes place on September 28-29, 2010, at the Hilton Post Oak Hotel in Houston, TX, has been updated and improved to take into account the numerous and complex regulatory changes stemming from Financial Reform Legislation.

John Kroeger, Branch Chief, Office of Enforcement, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Patricia Galvan, Deputy Assistant Director, Bureau of Competition, Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and Geoffrey Aronow, Former Director of Enforcement, Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will lead the Enforcement Panel, providing real world insight on the coming initiatives from these key regulatory agencies.

“With all the recent changes to the energy trading space stemming from the Dodd-Frank legislation, we are thrilled to have confirmed the participation of key government regulators from FERC and FTC,” said Leigh Leventhal, Legal Conference Director at ACI.  “There is so much at stake right now for energy trading firms, as well as their outside counsel, and this event will offer them a unique opportunity to learn about the new regulations directly from the regulators, gain advice from industry leaders on best practices for maximizing compliance while minimizing risk, and hear insights about what to expect in the future, which is invaluable when planning a compliance program.”

Industry leaders confirmed to participate at this event include in-house attorneys from PJM Interconnection, ConocoPhillips, Hess, Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy, Enserco Energy, and Black Hills Corp.

More information about this event, including a full agenda, faculty list, and brochure can be accessed at www.americanconference.com/ferc
