Remington College Provides More than 3,000 Complimentary Back-to-School Hair Cuts

Sept. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- Lake Mary, Fla. – (September 1, 2010) - Remington College sent more than 3,000 students back to school looking and feeling their best this summer. The career college provided complimentary back to school hair cuts at the thirteen Remington College campuses with cosmetology departments (http://www.remingtoncollege.edu/cosmetology-beauty-school-overview).

The complimentary hair cut program is an annual event called Cuts for Kids (http://community.remingtoncollege.edu/reaches_out/cuts_for_kids.php). Families are invited to bring in children under 17 years of age for a free hair cut during the two weeks prior to the start of the school year.

A total of 3,312 hair cuts were provided – beating last year’s total by more than 1,000.

“The response to Cuts for Kids was again outstanding,” said Dr. Mike Lanouette, Vice President and Chief Academic Officer for Remington College. “Our cosmetology students look forward to this and love working with the kids.”

The Remington College Cosmetology program teaches students the art of hair, skin and nail care through traditional classroom instruction and hands-on training in “The Salon at Remington" (http://cosmo.remingtoncollege.edu/), which allows students to work with real clients.
