Scottish Courts choose CreditCall’s CardEaseXML web payment service for online penalty settlements

Sept. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- The introduction of the online payment facility will make payment more straightforward for recipients of fixed penalty fines such as those issued by the police for motoring offences or anti-social behaviour. Most importantly, it will reduce costs and administration for the Court Service. Payment can now easily be made online using all major credit and debit cards.

The Scottish Court Service chose CreditCall as the preferred supplier after a rigorous tendering process. The CardEaseXML online payment system solution met all the criteria defined by the Courts Service for security, reliability and the best value for taxpayers. CardEaseXML has been integrated into the Court’s systems by STL, the software developers for COPII, the Court’s criminal business software application.

Scottish Court Service is now developing the facility to permit payment of most financial penalties online. As well as fixed penalty payments, the extended facility will also allow payment of all fines imposed in court, or issued by the Procurator Fiscal.
