GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Sept. 1, 2010 — Alexander Marketing, one of the nation’s leading business-to-business communications firms, today announced that it has named Patrick Kane to the newly created position of Director of Public Relations.

In this role, Kane will oversee all agency public relations efforts and will be responsible for leading the development of public relations strategies for current marketing campaigns in order to provide clients with a fully integrated communications solution.  In addition, he is tasked with growing the public relations department and acting as head of internal agency communications.

Kane most recently served as a Senior Associate with Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Lambert, Edwards & Associates where he counseled a variety of companies in corporate and crisis communications, executive communications and led the development of strategic messaging and public relations campaigns.  He has counseled such companies as global footwear manufacturer Wolverine World Wide; Cascade Engineering, recognized for their leadership in developing sustainable business models; the nationally expanding law firm of Barnes & Thornburg; and led the Spartan Motors/Force Protection event in Manhattan which produced national media attention for the Charlotte, Mich.-based Spartan Motors and the first national public relations award for the firm.  

Prior to his time at Lambert, Edwards, Kane served as Communications Director for State Senator Michelle A. McManus where he was the Senator’s lead spokesman and responsible for all media communications.  Kane also spent time at another Grand Rapids, Mich.-based public relations agency as well as the United States Chamber of Commerce’s international trade think, TradeRoots, a division of the National Chamber Foundation.  

Kane holds a degree in political science from Purdue University and attended graduate school in Washington, D.C. at the Catholic University of America where he studied international political economics.  He serves on the board of directors of the Humane Society of Kent County and is a former steering committee member of the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce’s Political Action Committee.  He currently resides in Rockford, Mich. with his wife Kelly, their two children, Alexander, four, and Emily 18 months along with their golden retriever Ellie.
