Select Security Group acquires new company

Aug. 31, 2010 - PRLog -- Expanding Yorkshire security firm Select Group has acquired the Southern-based company, UK Bailiffs and Enforcement.

While details of the value of the deal are not being made public, UK Bailiffs and Enforcement is said to have a turnover of £4.5 million.Its current customer portfolio and staff will integrate into the Yorkshire-based Select Group’s national portfolio. A southern office and management support team will also be retained.

Select Group managing director Pete Spencer said: “The move is in line with our strategy to compliment organic growth with selective national acquisitions. We take great care and time to find companies and people that match the group’s ethos and the UK Bailiffs & Enforcement purchase is another excellent ‘fit’ for Select Group. The deal further strengthens our ability to service existing and new customers across the UK.”

Select Group was established by Mr Spencer in 1992 and has expanded and diversified to become one of the largest Yorkshire-based security companies. It maintains Yorkshire offices in Hull,Leeds,Bradford, Keighley, Halifax, Harrogate and Skipton, as well as in Manchester, Burnley and Preston to service a growing presence in Lancashire with a North East Office in Newcastle Upon Tyne

Major growth in Select Group’s own bailiff enforcement and debt collection business prompted the acquisition of UK Bailiffs and Enforcement. The combined client portfolio includes solicitors, bailiffs, commercial landlords, local authorities, letting agents, financial houses, central government agencies and individual businesses.

Mr Spencer added: “We are now in a position to more effectively service growing demand from both public and private sector customers, not only across our operational heartlands in the north, but also UK-wide as we develop our national footprint.”
