Maybank MoneyTree YES 3 BreakThrough! Session

Aug. 31, 2010 - PRLog -- Petaling Jaya, August 26th, 2010 – MoneyTree will be organizing the Maybank MoneyTree YES 3 BreakThrough! Session on the 4th of September 2010 at Taylor’s University College, Lakeside Campus. The BreakThrough session would see 38 teams battling it out for the TOP 12 spots, to move on to the main YES 3 Judging Session, for a chance to solicit funding from investors to implement their business ideas.


Each team will be given 2 minutes to pitch their ideas to the YES Advisory Panel and Judges which is made up of corporate leaders and industry experts. Participating teams will have to defend their ideas and prove the commercial viability of their business ideas to the Judges. This would be followed by a 5-minute Q&A session where the Judges will scrutinize the business ideas of the teams to ensure that only the finest 12 teams would make it to the next round.


The Top 12 teams will then advance to the next round of elimination, the JUDGING Session, where teams would be presenting a more comprehensive version of their business idea to the Judges.


MoneyTree Malaysia CEO, Mr Brandon Liew stated, “It’s fascinating to see all these Enthusiastic Young Aspiring Entrepreneurs work so hard to perfect their business ideas. Even though their ideas have been shot down many times during the private consultation sessions before the BreakThrough Session, they were undeterred and in fact, they came back stronger with ideas that were far more solid. To see these youths pushing the envelope and coming out stronger, better, and more business savvy proves that our youths are a motivated and self driven lot, and hence, they should be provided with more opportunities to allow them to showcase their capabilities.”


All teams have been working very hard to perfect their executive summaries, proposals and their presentation skills over the past 3 weeks.


Participating teams in YES Season 3 consists of students from HELP University College, Taylors University College, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Monash University, KDU, Sunway University College, MultiMedia University (MMU), Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Tenaga Nasional (Uniten) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

About the Maybank MoneyTree YES Challenge:

The Maybank MoneyTree YES challenge is a business challenge organized by MoneyTree to help Young, Vibrant Entrepreneur Aspirants launch their business ideas into the market and ultimately turn those ideas into profitable ventures. The challenge not only allows young Entrepreneurs / aspiring Entrepreneurs to learn skills that would sharpen their Entrepreneurial mindsets, but to also provide them with the opportunity to experience the practical applications of the Entrepreneurial skills they acquired through the MoneyTree Entrepreneur Fast Track program. Ultimately, YES teams who have proven their worth would be channelled to government pre-seed grants for full commercialization of their ideas.
