Dallas International Trade Center Partners with Alabama ITC to Offer Import/Export Training

The International Trade Center of Dallas has partnered with The Alabama International Trade Center offering the award winning Global Market Series- Export, Import & NAFTA training via webinar, providing convenient, low cost training/certification.

Sept. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- The International Trade Center of Dallas is pleased to announced their partnership with The Alabama International Trade Center, thus broadening the availability for participation in their training seminars in Import, Export and NAFTA. The International Trade Center's, award winning Global Market Series, now available by webinar/seminar, has added more sessions and fourth day of training.

The Import Certification is certified by the Institute for Supply Management, Dallas; the Export Certification by the Department of Commerce and the NAFTA/FTA Certification by North America’s SuperCorridor Coalition.  All seminars are presented by industry experts and can be attended online or in person. Now attendees can participate from anywhere in the world!

This new format allows participants to watch from their own office; are low-cost and result in official certification. Companies or individuals worldwide seeking documented training for professional development or for import/export audit purposes do not want to miss these webinars.

The Import Series covers the main steps in the import process including the requirements to import from Customs and Border Protection; how to establish a decision making process to compare outsourcing options; how to determine landed costs; the key components and best practices in international supply chain management; how the use of an FTZ might work for your company or product; the role of a customs broker and freight forwarder; the most common international payment mechanisms; the legal agreements and forms used in an import purchase transaction; updates on C-TPAT, 10+2 as well as other current compliance issues. New topics include: outsourcing for new importers; government agencies beyond CBP involved in the import process; new mandatory document filings and a case study addressing the biggest mistakes new importers make and how to avoid them.  

The Export Certificate Program seminar series covers the steps in the export process such as:  identifying public resources available to assist in country research and financing; learning the government agencies role in export procedures; mandatory compliance requirements regarding such topics as licensing, recordkeeping requirements and penalties; becoming familiar with non U.S. regulations and compulsory marks, the CE Mark and CCC; the basics of international payment procedures; and how to work with your freight forwarder to navigate the logistics and documentation maze. New classes include: training from Census Bureau on how to complete the required AES (Automated Export System), EEI (Electronic Export Information); cross cultural negotiations and a case study on the biggest mistakes exporters make and how to avoid them.

The NAFTA/FTA seminars cover the main steps in the process of utilizing NAFTA and other Free Trade Agreements. Topics include: how to determine if claiming NAFTA status is right for your product, how to classify your product to claim the advantages of NAFTA, how to complete a NAFTA Certificate of Origin as well as the current U.S. Free Trade Agreements, their requirements and benefits.
