Councillors Re Define Public Service to Publicly Funded Political Benefits and Pensions, Clarke

Political welfare bums, comfortably sitting around city hall for the past 12 to 30 years on the peoples dime continue taking advantage of taxpayers even after they are defeated at the polls by giving themselves a full years salary of $122,845 each.
Aug. 31, 2010 - PRLog -- Over the past ten years Toronto’s incumbent councillors have taken public service and replaced it with publicly funded severance benefits of one full year’s salary and benefits which will cost the taxpayers’ $122,845 per incumbent councillor after they have been turfed out of office by the voters.

Toronto’s civic political welfare bums, comfortably sitting around city hall for the past 12 to 30 years on the peoples dime and not content with the fact that their left leaning ideologies for unsustainable salary increases and benefits continually awarded in union contracts over the past years which put our city in a fiscal crisis, continue taking advantage of taxpayers.

Now after they are defeated at the polls by the voters all 44 incumbent councillors including the incumbent from Toronto’s North York Willowdale ward 23 gave themselves a golden severance benefits costing taxpayers $122,845.45 for each councillor after the voters turf them out of office this October 25.

“Their self given taxpayer funded severance benefit package is two times the maximum requirement under Ontario’s labour laws and this one year full salary benefit is on top of their lucrative Omers pension,”  CLARKE states.

Toronto’s incumbent councillors out of control Spending, with the largest cost being for wages, salaries and benefits over the past ten years has increased 261% over inflation for the same period.

Debt servicing costs for transit alone has doubled on the average by 20% annually; with other debt costs increasing on average at 14.6% annually, yet inflation for the past ten years averaged only 2.3% annually.

Peter CLARKE who is seeking a seat on council from Toronto North York Willowdale ward 23 come this October 25 has proposed to rescind this outrageous benefit package which amounts to one full year’s salary and benefits that these incumbent councillors voted themselves which is two times the amount available to public workers throughout Ontario.

Our city’s problems will get worse unless the voters turfs these incumbent councillors of 15 plus years out of office on October 25 and elect candidates that understand and acknowledge that to address our fiscal crisis we will have to decrease SPENDING by finding efficiencies and reduce salaries, benefits plus increase some user fees combined with cuts or elimination of certain programs.

Suggesting otherwise is an attempt to hoodwink the taxpayers of Toronto.

Peter CLARKE urges voters to read his common sense campaign mission platform @ http://torontopolitics2010.blogspot.com/ and should you agree please give him your support and vote on October 25.

“Toronto One City, Your Vote, Our Future Together, Begins on October 25, 2010 with your support throughout the North York Community.”
