New wedding website hopes to fill gap in market from Confetti

Aug. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- Wedding based online and high street firm Confetti has gone bust this month with the loss of nearly 100 jobs.

As the recession continues to hit businesses, you have to ask if the wedding industry would be a major casualty, after all, would brides and grooms have plenty of spare money left to save for an expensive wedding day.

The Manchester-based Confetti, which sells just about everything from wedding dresses to invitations and wedding gifts, called in administrators after a severe cash crisis.

With 1,100 outstanding orders, Confetti are hoping to honour these, with an average value of £45.

Their shops in Birmingham, Glasgow, Reading, Leeds and London have been shut and are trying to focus on selling the internet business.
