UFC 119 - The Big Show Down With Cro Cop Stepping Up For UFC 119

Mirko (Cro Cop) Filipovic will replace Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in the main event of UFC 119 at Indiana's Conseco Fieldhouse.

Mr Nogueira was forced to pull out of the event due to a hip injury and will have surgery done before he returns to the octagon.

Cro Cop's opponent at the September 25 event will be former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir which should be an exciting one.

Mir (13-5) is coming off a loss to Shane Carwin in an interim title fight at UFC 111. Prior to that, he had earned a submission victory over Cheick Kongo in December of 2009.

Cro Cop (27-7-2) is 3-1 since returning to the UFC last year. In his last bout, he scored a rare submission win over Pat Barry at UFC 115 in Vancouver.

Originally UFC 119 was supposed to be headlined by both Nogueira brothers, as light heavyweight Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will take on Ryan Bader in the co-main event. The card also features a pair of Canadian fighters Joe Doerksen and T.J. Grant taking on C.B. Dolloway and Julio Paulino, respectively.
