Photograpy by Aaron Gil suited well to queens and princesses of Artesia Holy Spirit Festival

Aug. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- San Marino, CA – Seasoned photographer Aaron Gil delighted Artesia, California’s Portuguese community with his promotional and event photographs for the historic Festa do Divino Espirito Santo, or Divine Holy Spirit Festival.

This year’s festival, an 84-year tradition in Artesia, was held July 23-26. The event is rooted in the religious traditions of Portuguese immigrants from the Azorean islands and is specifically linked to the celebration of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles. In Artesia, the main procession featured a beautiful court of local girls and young women, who were honored as the festival’s Queen, Junior Queen, and Princesses.
