Aug. 25, 2010 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA — With the publication of its third issue, Scrubs magazine, the first lifestyle magazine and website (scrubsmag.com) for nurses, has already won the esteem of the media, the attention of advertisers and the hearts of readers.

Since its debut in November 2009, Scrubs has received many accolades, including the 2010 Western Publishing Association Maggie Award for Best New Publication.

Scrubs roster of advertisers continues to grow. National advertisers premiering in the third issue include Campbell's Soup and Nuvigil, joining new endemic advertisers Interim HealthCare, Western Governors University, Health Professions Education Foundation and Crescent Healthcare.

Scrubs fills a previously untapped niche: the nursing lifestyle market. The magazine includes information and advice on beauty, style, money, time management, food and nutrition, career, and health and wellness-all from a nurse's point of view.

Features in the third issue include:

   * "The Art of Nursing": Science is just part of the job. It doesn't explain how much you tell a patient about chemo, for example. Theresa Brown, RN, an oncology nurse, delves into the heart of medicine.
   * "A Portrait of the Nurse as a Poet": The sudden loss of a patient propelled Cortney Davis, RN, to pull out her notebooks and write, launching a dual career as a nurse and poet.
   * "A Passion for Postcards": Through his gorgeous collection of historic images, Michael Zwerdling, RN, an ER-turned-hospice nurse, shows how pervasively his profession has left its stamp on society.

The magazine has a circulation of 350,000, is published three times a year and is sold to more than 1,600 nursing apparel stores nationwide, with new stores added each month.

Scrubs magazine's companion website, http://scrubsmag.com, has enjoyed steady traffic growth and site engagement since its debut, and now has more than 55,000 visitors and 200,000 page views per month. Its "Weekly Best" e-newsletter now boasts more than 14,000 subscribers and continues to add more than 1,000 subscribers every month. And the website offers one of the most popular social media experiences for nurses, with 8,000-plus fans and followers, including those on Facebook and Twitter.

The magazine and website are produced by Mind Over Media, LLC, the Los Angeles-based media development and packaging company. Strategic Partners, Inc.—the leading nursing apparel and footwear company in the United States—is the founding sponsor.
