McQueen Gadberry Named Advisor to KETC-TV Channel 9’s Media Series on Immigration, “Homeland"

St. Louis, Missouri: Jalesia F. McQueen Gadberry, an experienced immigration attorney better known as Jasha, has been named an advisor to Homeland, a public media initiative from KETC-TV Channel 9 in St. Louis that aims to clarify and give voice to immigration issues.
As advisor and well-connected member of the community, Jasha will utilize her knowledge and expertise to help guide Homeland work on air, online, and in the community. She will assist with connecting the community to KETC, and guiding KETC efforts through identifying resonant issues, explaining immigration law and processes, and encouraging meaningful dialogue and participation regarding immigration. Immigration remains a dominantly divisive issue in America and the issues faced in Missouri are a microcosm of the larger national debate about immigration. The Homeland initiative is driven by and rooted in the community and uses multiple communications media to foster more involvement by recent and established immigrants, longtime residents and immigration organizations.
The bulk of the KETC engagement will occur in 2010, with broadcast series delivery in mid-2011.

Jalesia F. McQueen Gadberry (Jasha), a second generation Peruvian immigrant fluent in Spanish, is owner and lead attorney of the St. Louis-based law firm, McQueen Gadberry LLC. She also received the St. Louis Business Journal’s “40 under 40” award in 2007 and was featured as a “St. Louis Character” in 2010.
