Aug. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- The Australian Migration Digest News Service delivers Australian Election Analysis

The Australian Migration Digest’s News Service is providing the only authoritative information source solely focused on immigration issues amidst the extraordinary outcomes from last weekend’s Australian Federal Election. The lack of a clear result has left those concerned and affected by migration levels in further limbo. The Australian Migration Digest is closely monitoring the immigration policies of the Australian Greens Party which is likely to hold the balance of power in the Australian Senate.

Australian Migration Digest Co-Founder Fiona Boyd says historically the Australian Greens Party has had very clear ideas about low immigration. “They have been clear about who the bad guys are in the population debate - skilled migrants. They are absolutely in favour of humane solutions to the refugee and asylum seekers but have neglected  to address the need for ordinary migration. Yet there is a genuine demand in the Australian economy for skilled and semi-skilled workers right now.”

Ms Boyd says the Greens are torn between two extremes on the migration issue: “on one side the Greens have supporters who see Australia's role as accepting more refugees and providing more opportunity for migrants. But they also have supporters who want the least amount of people possible because  that way there is less of us to damage the environment with our carbon footprints.”

“We know that according to a survey in The Business Spectator the key issue that is keeping CEOs ‘Awake at Night’ is the ability to source skilled staff. Fifty five percent of those polled put it as their number one concern. Over and above customer demands and increasing competition. This shows us just how important the continued migration of skilled workers is to this country’s economy. “ says Ms Boyd.

The Australian Migration Digest’s News Service is the only media outlet covering the extraordinary aftermath of the Australian Election from the point of view of migrants and immigration issues. Through its News Service and its publications such as ‘Australian Business Skills Migration. The Guidebook’, the Australian Migration Digest is the authoritative comprehensive, up to date and trustworthy online service that helps prospective Australian migrants and visa applicants navigate the minefield that is contemporary immigration law in Australia. There are more than 150 different visa subclasses in Australia and each has its own specific criteria that a person must satisfy. Immigration law changes frequently in Australia and it is usual for there to be more than 30 legal updates throughout the year.
