Aug. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- (August 23, Wells River, Vermont) - The Vermont-based company Bag of Bark has launched a line of all-natural, vegetarian dog treats that rely heavily on organic and local (Vermont) ingredients. The five initial "flavors" include "Beef" Chip Bark, "Chicken" Parmesan Bark, Oatmeal Bark, Peanut Butter Bark, and Peppermint Bark.

"Bag of Bark was born out of a desire to provide our own pets with higher-quality treats than we were finding in stores and online," says Bag of Bark founder Rich Gray. "Whenever possible we use organic products such as organic honey and peanut butter. We also try to purchase items from local companies whenever possible -- from King Arthur Flour and the Vermont Peanut Butter Company to local maple syrup producers -- making these treats a true Vermont product."

In keeping with their vegetarian ideals, Bag of Bark uses a textured vegetable protein (TVP) in place of meat products that are normally found in pet treats. All order received are hand-made to order, assuring the highest level of quality and freshness.
