Aug. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., – InteliCloud, a developer and manufacturer of elastic data center equipment, today announced that their InteliCloud 360 Elastic ArchitectureTM has been chosen by Slice Networks as the preferred platform for Slice Networks’ multi-tenancy, HMC 4.5 unified communications solution. Slice Network’s solution is slated for deployment late Q4/10.

Based on Microsoft’s Hosted Messaging and Collaboration, HMC 4.5 brings together powerful Microsoft enterprise products such as Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services, and Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS), which manages all real-time communications such as instant messaging (IM) and audio and video conferencing. Slice Networks will be offering hosted HMC services to their client base. Additionally, Slice Network’s software co-development partner, M1D Systems will be reselling a “UC-in-a-Box” solution featuring multi-tenant HMC 4.5 to service providers and private enterprises.

Addressing the need for more thoroughly integrated private and public cloud computing solutions that are easier to manage, more secure and highly scalable, Slice Networks solution is differentiated through their proprietary multi-tenancy provisioning and management software layers combined with InteliCloud’s Elastic ArchitectureTM that brings the added benefits of distributed computing. The solution will enable businesses to more easily move from wanting a cloud environment to deploying and managing one. The suite of services that build a unified communications (UC) offering makes the design and scaling of its network a daunting task. However, Slice Networks and M1D Systems have simplified this process by building a UC platform onto a single bladed-system that can scale by adding more systems. Essentially, UC-in-a-Box is the answer to the complexity and problems associated with Unified Communications.

Adam Diep, Slice Networks’ CEO states, “We have successfully tested and deployed Microsoft's HMC 4.5 onto a single blade server with the InteliCloud 360. This single platform fully configured will cost us half of a competitive solution.”

The InteliCloud 360 re-imagines network infrastructure to tightly integrate off-the-shelf components with proprietary hardware and software into a single chassis, dramatically simplifying the operation, scalability and overall agility of the network. This enables a datacenter that is free of the traditional capacity based architectural and licensing constraints, and can instead adapt to various service-offering driven load scenarios that a typical service provider network experiences over its lifetime.

Designed from the ground up, the InteliCloud 360 Elastic ArchitectureTM features a unique patent-pending blade frame input/output structure that removes the 1:1 relationship between services and hardware, enabling all the hardware in the network and/or data center to be available for all services. By virtualizing the network and storage interfaces, an application can move without interruption from blade to blade and chassis to chassis throughout the network. The InteliCloud 360 removes the hardware bottleneck and enables the SPx to stack multiple services.

According to InteliCloud Technology Inc’s President, Jeffrey Friederichs, “The Slice Network’s multi-tenant HMC deployment on the InteliCloud 360 as compared to their alternate hardware solution has reduced the number of racks needed from 2 to 1, chassis space needed from 5 to 1 and power consumption baseline for phase 1 deployment from roughly 8.5kw/hr to approximately 1kw/hr. This deployment represents strong validation for the InteliCloud 360 product promises and more importantly the enhanced scalability and simplified manageability of InteliCloud’s “Elastic ArchitectureTM.”
