Aug. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Last week Governor Quinn appointed two Illinois Chiropractic Society members to two different Illinois State Boards; one to the State Board of Health and one to the Medical Disciplinary Board. Following efforts by both the Illinois Chiropractic Society and the doctors themselves, the appointments were finalized.

Dr. Monica Schnack (Bloomington, ICS President) was appointed by the Governor to the newly created Chiropractic Physician position on the State Board of Health. This position was created last year after the Illinois Legislature passed and Governor Quinn signed ICS initiated legislation into law adding the position to the State Board of Health.

Dr. Richard Fay (Naperville, 2009 ICS Chiropractic Physician of the Year) has been appointed by Governor Quinn to serve on the Illinois Medical Disciplinary Board. The Medical Disciplinary Board is tasked with reviewing and making recommendations regarding disciplinary cases for all categories of physicians in Illinois. Dr. Fay is taking over the seat previously held by Dr. Linda Zange (Glenview), who has served on the Medical Disciplinary Board for the last 8 years."
