CB Radio Market Attracts Successful Online Retailer

CB radio was at its peak in the mid-to-late 1970s when it became a cultural phenomenon. For this reason it is still the only way to make contact on long journeys when you are looking for information about road and weather conditions ahead. ‘Mobile CB radios are simple to use and easy to install’ says Harkins ‘and can be invaluable in cases of emergency.’ State troopers, as well as highway patrol vehicles usually monitor CB's channel 9 which is used to call for help in case of an emergency.
 
Emergency readiness is another reason for the popularity of CB radio. Cellphone towers are dependent on power supply, so the cellular network is likely to be unavailable in the case of a major weather event or other natural disaster such as a flood or hurricane with associated power outages.  CB radio uses little power and can be operated by a car battery for an extended period of time, and most CB radios have an added feature, they receive storms and extreme weather bulletins from the weather service.

CB radio is nothing short of a lifeline to many people.
