Fiscal Policies Political Expedience Have Corrupted City Hall & Damaged Toronto’s Solvency, CLARKE

Rob Ford's corruption allegations and Smitherman’s position that the city’s “process was a sham" the Provinces Attorney General or the RCMP along with the media and others should finally demand a forensic audit and investigation of trust breach
Aug. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Torontonians DO NOT require yet another person acting that he or she could be mayoral through the eyes of the left leaning elite within our city.

Voters are united from the suburbs to the city core that SPENDING must be brought under control and that incumbent councillors of the past 15 to 25 years MUST GO along with their outgoing mayor.

Incumbent councillors have shown their complete lack of prudence for taxpayer money as witnessed by their 260% SPENDING increase in ten years over the increase in of inflation which rose by only 23% for the same period yet councillors increased spending by 60%.

Their spending $4,999,236 MILLION dollars or $113,519 per councillor for their self given Golden Severance Package upon their defeat at the polls, which is twice that established for Ontario workers is yet another example of their arrogance and self serving greed.

Their spending $600,000 of taxpayers hard earned income to as a Guarantor to bank roll a private corporation to gain votes and support from Toronto Cyclists Union this election year is NOT being fiscally responsible at any time.

Councillors approval of a NO Tendering, Rent Reductions and Monopoly for Friends of the Family in an immoral, unethical and in my opinion illegal non competitive tendering process has cost the taxpayers of Toronto $1 MILLION $600 HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS by their extending of that food and drink monopoly located on our city’s eastern beaches.

Then with the outgoing mayor and incumbent councillor’s empty pretense discovery of $104.8 MILLION Dollars of tax payers money was more icing on the cake and called for an in-depth external forensic audit of our city’s finances, but that has not happened?

Incumbent’s approval for borrowing $436 MILLION dollars for a grant of $240 MILLION dollars from the federal and provincial governments and the sale of a $600 MILLION dollars note to pay down the city’s debt and then at the same spreading our debt and interest payments over 35 years from the previous 10 year period based on the logic that interest rates have never been so low was another very questionable accounting scheme to balance the operating budget.

They did not seem to care that their financial gimmickry was in effect passing on this expense to our children’s generation and saddling them with unnecessary debt was NOT fiscally responsible in my opinion.

Now couple this with Toronto Hydro’s board members and council subsequent approval of the outright deceptive conduct of voting to deceitfully increase electricity prices so it could hand over fat payments to cash hungry and fiscally inept City of Toronto and Ford's allegations of corruption and Smitherman's previous statement that “the process is a sham” to me should carry a lot of weight at least for an a forensic audit and investigation do you not think?

They neglected their legal individual fiduciary responsibilities and duties to Toronto voters and hydro customers by diverting funds needed by the utility for its system reliability by deceitfully increasing unwarranted dividend payments to the city of Toronto in my opinion and as recently ruled by Ontario's Court of Appeal.

Instead of stopping spending Toronto incumbent councillors wanted to control our lifestyles by attempting to micro-managing personal choices and freedoms down to the level of a soft drink, french fries and salt etc. under the guise of taking care of us through larger and larger government control.

However this is what the outgoing Mayor and his lefts leaning incumbent councillors refer to as “good balance" between the tax increases and investing in services.

It is my opinion along with a majority of Toronto taxpayers these were all corrupt decisions, first made behind closed doors in the dark of night, which must be openly investigated through the process of an independent forensic accounting audit.

Perhaps now with Rob Ford's corruption allegations and Smitherman’s position that the city’s “process was a sham" the Provinces Attorney General or the RCMP along with the media and others will finally demand an investigation and forensic audit into these recurring shams and neglect of fiduciary duties and responsibilities or lack thereof by incumbent councillors, Toronto hydro board members and the outgoing mayor and his staff.
