Aug. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- (New York, New York) Rapper and hip-hop activist, Queen YoNasDa, will partner with BET’s Rap-It-Up campaign to inform the youth about sexual health issues including HIV/AIDS and other sexually-transmitted diseases. Queen YoNasDa will hit the road with Rap-It-Up in Omaha, Nebraska then Toronto, Ontario by serving on a panel along with other hip-hop artists and health experts which will be moderated by comedian, Joe Clair.

Minorities have been disproportionately affected by the HIV epidemic and account for the majority of newly-reported AIDS cases and deaths among persons living with the disease. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, African- American women make up 64% of estimated new HIV +infections among women and young African Americans between the ages of 13-19 represent 61% of new AIDS cases.

“This is a huge honor because I have had several close people in my life die of AIDS, and I have some friends that are HIV positive.  To be a part of this tour really hits home for me. I cannot wait to meet and talk with young men and women on this topic,” says Queen YoNasDa who continues to be a leader on social issues within the hip-hop community.
