Aug. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Allstate agency owner Garland H. Boyd was recently named an Agent Hero by Allstate Insurance Company’s New York Region, and awarded a $500 grant for a local youth program.

Boyd donated the grant to the Queens Achievement Foundation (QAF) of Rochdale Village, which provides the disadvantaged youth of Queens County with essential skills building through mentorship and tutoring, as well as college scholarship support to high school students. Community efforts are realized through programs such as the Kappa “Training for Leadership” League at Martin Luther High School in Maspeth, and the Queens Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity’s Guide Right and Social Action initiatives.

“As an Allstate agent, I believe it is my responsibility to demonstrate the Good Hands Promise in the Queens community every single day,” said Boyd, whose office is located at 222-09 Jamaica Avenue in Queens Village. “It is an honor to be able to donate this grant to Queens Achievement Foundation and hopefully touch the lives of the youth who are involved.”
