Follow on Google News | 911novel.com Allows Readers To Share MemoriesWhere were you when it happened? Doug Shiloh's new web site, anticipating his second novel WAITING FOR THE END, allows readers to share their memories of that infamous day in September, 2001.
That's what you can record at http://www.911novel.com. The idea to let readers join a site and share their story came about during novelist Doug Shiloh's research for his new in-progress novel "Waiting for the End", a story about "grief, 9-11 and second chances." Readers can post their own experience at the web site. "This was a day like Pearl Harbor, like the Kennedy assassination," "Everybody knew where they were. We remember how we feel, what went on that day and that week. Some were very touched by the tragedies. This allows readers to put those feelings and memories somewhere, to see how others are still affected." Shiloh, a graduate from a school in Enfield, Connecticut, had classmates that worked in the towers. Where was Shiloh? "I was volunteering for a charity and out at the local CBS station early, and after our piece, I headed back home before dropping my 8-year-old son off to school. We sat at the breakfast bar eating cereal, turned the TV on to see if they mentioned the charity skit and saw the breaking news from New York. Just then the second jet hit the other tower. I didn't want to take my son to school. I went on to work, where I as a sports editor, and you can imagine what kind of day it was around the office." http://www.waitingfortheend.com # # # Homefield Multimedia is a multimedia group promoting new work by authors, artists, actors and more.
