Candy Mainard of Heart of America Humane Society reports, “The Heart of America Humane Society is a 100% volunteer organization working to find good homes for animals. Without a facility or paid staff, Heart of America Humane Society relies on its all-volunteer network of caring individuals to carry out its mission. Challenges faced by Heart of America Humane Society in 2010 are the reduction in both adoptions and donations, due to the economy.”

Please join us at Pete and Mac’s Recreational Resort for Pets in Lee’s Summit, on Thursday, August 19th from 4 – 7pm, for some summer beach-worthy drinks, snacks, and a chance to win some great prizes. Canine attendees will enjoy special pet friendly treats and canine companionship. A $5 donation at the door gets you and your dog into the party. Raffle tickets are available now; you don’t have to be present to win. All donations at the door and for raffle tickets go to Heart of America. Your very small donation can, and will, save pets’ lives. And socialization is good for your dog, and for you.

Mainard continues, “We will have adoptable pets at Pete and Mac’s Pet Resort on Thursday evening, ready to go home with you then! Puppies under 5 months are $140 adoption fee, adult dogs $120. All adoptable pets are fully vaccinated and ready to join your family.”
