Federal Energy Tax Credit of $1,500 to End Soon
All qualifying projects must be completed by the end of 2010; homeowners encouraged to take advantage of opportunity
By: Carl Wegener
As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, this federal tax credit allows homeowners to claim a $1,500 tax credit for energy efficient home improvements. This is a tax credit, not a deduction – meaning you get a dollar off your taxes for every qualifying dollar you spend.
Windows and doors are an ideal way to use this tax credit. In addition to giving a great new look to a home, energy-efficient new windows and doors can save homeowners up to 25 percent on their monthly heating and cooling bills.
The tax credit is based on 30 percent of the cost of the energy efficient product, up to $1,500. For example, a $5,000 purchase of qualifying windows and doors will receive the maximum tax credit of $1,500. Installation and labor costs do not qualify for the tax credit.
Marvin Windows and Doors has numerous products that qualify for the tax credit, including our new Ultimate Casement with a unique wash mode. This beautiful yet tough window comes in a variety of styles, sizes and options to meet the needs of any home. And Marvin’s large product portfolio means that builders and homeowners will be able to choose from a virtually unlimited selection of windows and doors to satisfy their design and energy needs.
To take advantage of this tax credit with new Marvin windows and doors, please contact Glenbrook Lumber & Supply, Inc. at 651-747-0500, Website: www.glenbrooklumber.com, on FaceBook: http://www.facebook.com/
Gene Heger, President of Glenbrook Lumber & Supply says, “This tax credit is a great way for homeowners to add beauty and value to their home while receiving a tax credit. We encourage anyone who might be interested to act fast, since all qualifying projects must be completed by the end of the year.”
