Benefit Fundraiser for Mother of Slain Georgia Soldier

Aug. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- A NIGHT OF SOUL & JAZZ BENEFIT FUNDRAISER FOR PATRICIA ROBERTS

(Lithonia, GA, August 9, 2010) -  On Saturday, August 14, 2010, Young People Matter (YPM) is sponsoring a Night of Soul & Jazz Benefit fundraiser for Patricia Roberts, mother of Specialist Jamaal Addison, the first Georgian solider to die in the Iraqi war who recently has been told by SunTrust Bank that her Lithonia home would be foreclosed on.

Through media attention and the help of elected officials, Ms. Roberts has been granted an extension on her foreclosure by SunTrust and according to her, has been able to  “buy some time.”  Ms. Roberts is in need of financial resources to help her family move.

The event will also feature high school jazz gospel band, AGAPE Love and Soloist QueenAsia, a freshman at Georgia State.  “Ms. Roberts, who is also seeking employment, has given so much for this country and the State of Georgia, needs our help.  We are asking everyone in the Lithonia and Stone Mountain communities to come out and show support on Saturday or send a contribution to her fund,” states Simone Joye, YPM’s Executive Director and host of the event.
