Andy McCumber speaks on Legal Panel at the Florida Association of Homes and Services for the Aging

Aug. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- July 27th, 2010 – Boca Raton, Florida – McCumber Daniels Shareholder, Andy McCumber, participated in a legal panel on several topics affecting long-term care facilities at the Florida Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (FAHSA) 47th Annual Convention.  

Mr. McCumber serves as Florida’s Representative on the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging’s National Legal Committee.  In addition to his active litigation practice, he was the Defense Attorney Advisor and Lead Legislative Draftsman for the Florida Health Care Association on tort reform legislation during the 2001 Florida Legislative Session.  Since then, he has served various clients and trade groups by drafting legislation to benefit the long-term care community and testifying before the Florida Legislature on these issues.   Mr. McCumber provided an update on recent Florida and federal cases affecting long-term care facilities’ entitlement to arbitration and other legislative initiatives aimed at correcting inequities in the current legal liability framework.
