The first thing that you want to do to 'Hook' your target audience is create a strong captivating statement.  Something that will capture your target audience right at the very top of your content.  The point of your captivating statement is to grab the attention of your viewers, so make it worthwhile, and make it strong!

The second thing that you will want to do is create a personal reference (this could very well be YOU).  Have you ever heard the term “name dropping?” Using a person's name or respected title that your target audience relates to and respects will surely create a buzz of interest.  You want to use that credibility to your advantage, this technique creates a sense of trust and creditability between you and your target audience.

The third and strongest hook is asking a specific question.  General questions such as “how are you?” can be smoothed over without disturbing the lightest train of thought.  So you want to be specific in your questioning such as “how could an extra $1000 per month benefit you in your life?” A specific question will make your target audience think about your question and will stop them in their tracks...it 'hooks' them ;)

Once you have hooked your target audience you will want to keep their attention level high, to do this   you will want to place another 'hook' whenever you are starting to feel your audience's attention level dropping.  Placing another hook throughout your content will re-grab your target audience's attention.  Use these hooks as build-up towards important and critical points in your presentation or conversation to create a heightened peak for those critical points.  Your overall goal as a presenter is to create curiosity about what you are going to say, before you even say it!  So have fun and experiment with hooking!  Curiosity is the key to your sale!
