Denali Stoneworks presents the worlds best shower base. The Shower-Redi Quartz Base.
Denali Stoneworks launches new shower base product. Introducing the Shower-Redi Quartz Base.
By: Denali Stoneworks - Terry Fillis
Engineered stone, available from several manufacturers, is typically comprised of 93% quartz and 7% resins. This resin content, is what allows for the bending necessary to provide the proper slope needed for a shower base.
Unlike other pans, which are “ground” out to allow for the sloped base, leaving a very thin bottom, the Shower-Redi Quartz Base is literally “bent” to provide for this, therefore leaving the slab at the full original thickness of 3cm or approximately 1.25”. This results in an enormous amount of strength and durability under even the most demanding conditions.
“With input from several quartz slab manufacturers and months of experimentation in our lab facilities, we have created a process for consistently bending this stone to create the base needed for a shower pan,” says Terry Fillis, co-inventor of the patent-pending Shower-Redi Line.
The Shower-Redi Quartz Base features a solid 3cm bottom, bent to the proper 1/4” minimum slope per foot and is rounded out with, low-profile, 3.75” curbs. The base is available in 6-colors of CaesarStone Quartz and also in 6-colors of Chroma by Pental. A standard, stocking size of 36” x 36” with a center drain is currently available for shipping as well as tub-replacement sizes ranging from 30” x 60” to 33” x 60” with a center drain. Denali is planning to introduce additional stock sizes every couple of months.
“We have seen an enormous response for this product as a result of our first marketing blitz within our existing contractor base,” says Elizabeth Gibson, founder of Denali Stoneworks and co-inventor of the Shower-Redi Products. “In fact we have been seeing an overwhelming demand for custom sizes and shapes. We are working hard to meet these demands as they come in and are currently set to release our barrier free design next month.”
There are many features that will be appreciated by both contractors and homeowners alike. Scratch, stain, and heat resistance are some of the most popular, but this product is also non-porous, inhibits mildew growth, and never needs to be sealed. One additional feature, is the capability to coordinate the Shower-Redi Quartz Base with other surfaces, such as shower seats, shower walls, and vanity countertops.
“Where a traditional mud-set pan can take up to three days before it is ready for tile, the Shower-Redi Quartz Base can be installed in as little as one hour. This results in a significant cost savings to the end-user in terms of labor dollars,” explains Fillis. “This product was designed with the idea that even the do-it-yourselfer could easily install and be tiling walls within a very short amount of time.”
Denali Stoneworks is updating its website, in order to launch this new product within the next couple of weeks.
“Our plan is to distribute via dealers, independent sales reps, and the internet. We've started to take orders on our first models and have already started quoting projects as far away as the east coast,” says Gibson.
