Dr. Timothy O'Grady & Staff Host Successful Rummage Sale to Benefit Cancer Society

Aug. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- The deals were hot but the air conditioning felt nice and cool last Saturday when Dr. Timothy J. O’Grady’s staff hosted their first indoor Rummage for a Cause to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Dozens of vendors set up tables early Saturday morning selling just about anything you could ask for.  Bicycles, children’s clothing, golf clubs, a guitar, DVD’s, and games were just some of the items priced to sell.  As buyers flowed in and out of the Port St. Lucie Community Center all day, vendors were happy not to be outside in the ninety plus degree temperature.

“Temperatures have been in the extremes this summer so hosting this event indoors was necessary to ensure a successful event.  Making sure all our vendors and buyers were comfortable was very important to us”, stated Hien O’Grady, Chairperson of the event. Proceeds from the event benefitted the American Cancer Society.  

“On behalf of The American Cancer Society, my staff and I wish to thank all our sellers, patients, friends and community residents who came out to support this very worthy cause.  We were able to spread the word about Making Strides Against Breast Cancer”, stated Dr. O’Grady.  

If you missed the event but still want to make a donation, you can send your check, made payable to the American Cancer Society, to Dr. O’Grady’s office at 2708 S. US 1 in Fort Pierce.  You can also join them at the Breast Cancer Walk on Saturday, October 16th at the Town of Tradition, in western Port St. Lucie. There’s still time to register a team to walk, pledge a sponsorship or join Dr. O’Grady’s team.
