2012 Dodge Durango/ Dodge Magnum from Westbury Jeep
Westbury Jeep is proud to bring you information on the next generation Dodge Durango or as it may be known the Dodge Magnum, read more to find out specifications on name, history, engines, and more.
Welcome to the new age of Chrysler, one that has fresh new cars rolling off the assembly line. This year Chrysler is set to release new and refreshed cars into their line up. One that is stirring a lot of buzz is the 2012 Dodge Durango. Though still officially unnamed the car will be arriving as either a Dodge Durango or Dodge Magnum. The Dodge Durango was introduced in 1998 to replace the Ramcharger. The Dodge Durango went through many different engines and slight body changes, but nothing like this. The new dodge Durango will be in essence a stretched out version of the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is getting great early reviews.
The 2012 Dodge Durango/ Magnum will have differences from the Jeep Grand Cherokee counterpart. For once, it will be a 7 passenger stretched in the rear to accommodate more seating. It will also feature a Dodge grille and not the classic 7 slot jeep grille. Another special feature is the presence of dual tailpipes. This indicated that the 2012 Dodge Durango will have Chryslers 5.7L V8 Hemi engine. The 2012 Dodge Durango/Magnum will have the option of 4 wheel or rear wheel drive.
Interior shots of the inside give insight into the design and materials present. Spy shots indicate that better quality material is being used for the interior. A “soft-to-touch”
The name of the 2012 CUV has not been officially given. Chrysler hosted a marathon presentation for their five year plan during which they spoke the word Durango. During the discussion of the car in a powerpoint they called it Full Size CUV. Though the name being thrown around is the Durango, it may come under the nameplate of Magnum.
Production on the next generation Durango is set to start production November 8th, 2010 at Jefferson North Assembly Plant, Detroit, Michigan.
