Aug. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Liverpool-based internet radio station, Talk1 Radio is to launch a new service for all listeners of the station. Currently, Talk1 Radio is available online only via the Ustream Flash Player. However, the station is preparing to take this a step further by adding support for smartphones.

According to the team who are working on getting Talk1 mobile, the service is suited for 3G and WiFi smartphones. A new website is being prepared, where one can select which mobile device they own and the stream relevant to that device will begin playing.

Among the confirmed devices are the iPhone, BlackBerry and Android. More devices will be added at a later date. Any 3G version of the above line of phones should work with the new service.

Jack Benson, Head of Networks and Communications at the station released this statement:

"We're always trying to engage more listeners. Now with the technology of smartphones, virtually anyone can listen to streaming media anywhere. We're focusing on the three main smartphone operating systems, meaning that millions of people will be able to listen to Talk1 Radio on their phone, out of the box. We think that our listeners will love the freedom of taking their favourite shows with them."

The mobile streaming service will be launched later in the year after final tests are complete and when the station comes back from its summer break.
